Updates.
Ever since I found out about my friend’s death, it kind of forced me to spend some time deciphering the static grey matter inside my head alone. Sometimes reliving sweet, tender moments is the worst feeling, especially when you realize that things can never be the same again. But thanks to such a wonderful support system, it’s safe to say that I’m feeling a bit better since then....

Dissolve.
I don’t know if this is inappropriate of me to ask of you, and I’m sorry if it is. But can you keep my friend and his family in your thoughts? I just found out that he committed suicide this afternoon. I’m a little out of sorts and I don’t think I can muster enough strength to paint tonight. I’m hoping I’ll wake up tomorrow feeling better, or at least motivated...

I’ve wondered how you do that!!! Thx!
No problem! I’m here to help! :)
A couple of you have asked me how I reply to replies on tumblr. The way to do so is to install missing-e. I’ve used it for about two years, and I highly recommend it! It’s an unofficial extension for tumblr that allows you to do more things! You can read more about it on the website. It only works on Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari though. We had this artist in common, and that makes me HAPPY! I wish we could see the work in person together.
That’s awesome, Em! I wish we could too. We will have to make it a priority to see some of Frida’s paintings together though. See you on Saturday! :)

Self-gaze.
Despite being exhausted from a near all-nighter last night and an 11-hour school day, I feel pretty inspired. I had my one-on-one with Sam today, and met with my crit-club for coffee. They all had very helpful tips for me, and I feel much more confident with my ideas. I think I may even start prepping a canvas or two and work on paintings to join the two I have already for the first crit (eek!).

++++
My mother took a look at my paintings and said “that’s very nice”. Holy shit, I almost hugged her. I am going to be happy for the rest of the weekend now.

fin-to-fin replied to your video: I wanted to see how my hands move when I draw, so…
how long does it take for you to do one of these?
It really depends on how detailed the drawing is. The time can range anywhere from 5 minutes to even 30.

I wanted to see how my hands move when I draw, so I decided to record this. This is a continuation of a drawing I started at around 4 am when I woke from a dream. After I drifted back off to sleep and woke up again this morning, I felt a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach telling me that this drawing wasn’t finished. Or perhaps, something just wasn’t right with it. Turns out,...
